This is why anyone who went to college before the 1990s can shove their “Hey, I worked my way through school and graduated with no debt” talk…

This just makes me want to cry.

So, here’s something I don’t tend to share: The main reason I opened my studio last year was because I looked at what it was going to cost to get my Masters, crunched the numbers and realized I could open my own business and earn zero profit for fifteen years for an equivalent sum.
Now, I can’t actually afford to make zero profit with my business, I didn’t have that kind of money in the first place, but the point is I could go to school for three years or I could run a business in a state that isn’t exactly friendly to small business owners for fifteen for the same baseline cost. I don’t know, that system just seems a little broken to me.
